Stephen, Janet and Meaghan D'Souza

Dear Auntie Merl, Darrell, Rachel, Daniel, Patricia, Sam and Anna, Our deepest condolences. While far away, we share in your sadness and cherish our memories. Uncle Toddy has been a towering figure throughout my life. In childhood, I fondly remember arriving after a long road-trip from Montreal to the warmth and laughter of Toddy's embrace. He was always so welcoming and kind, even when I was an obnoxious teen. The day after our wedding, Janet's family held a get-together of family and friends. When we got their late in the morning, the house was overflowing with people, but no one noticed we had arrived. They were all focused on Toddy in the backyard with a guitar across his knee, leading them in songs. It felt like so many summer bar-b-ques in our backyard. Last year, Toddy and Merl came to visit us in Vancouver. He immediately hugged us like it hadn't been more than a decade since we had seen each other. Meaghan, then 10-years old, was swept into his warmth and laughter. Uncle Toddy will always be close to our hearts. Love, Stephen, Janet and Meaghan
