Went peacefully to be with God on Sunday, September 1, 2019 at Emmanuel House of Hamilton, Ontario. She was born February 2, 1944 in Hamilton but spent majority of her life living in the U.S. Jeanette graduated St. Joseph's School of Nursing in 1966 and had a fullfilling career as a nurse. Her passions in life included the Church, gardening, travelling, and photography. She is preceded in death by her dear mother, Madeline Berger. She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her husband, Mark Rooney, her children Philip Laperruque and Lynai Church, granddaughter Kali Church, stepson (cousin) Paul Rooney. Brothers and sisters Bruce (Maggie) Berger, Marilynn Engle, Francis Berger, and Charlotte Berger. Beloved feline Mitzi. Dear friend of Val and Renaud, Marion and George, Maria Boric and Shirley Johnson, Sister Ann Marshall, and Sister Nancy Sullivan.
Visitation will be held Thursday, September 5, 2019 at PX Dermody Funeral Home, 796 Upper Gage Avenue, from 2:00 - 4:00 pm and 7:00 - 9:00 pm. Funeral Mass to be celebrated at St. Catherine of Siena Parish-Corpus Christi Site, 1694 Upper James Street, Friday, September 6, 2019 at 10:00 am. Cremation to follow.
