It is with great sadness that our family announces the peaceful passing of Marija overnight on Thursday, January 17, 2019 at the age of 93. Predeceased by her husband, Ivan and beloved granddaughter, Laura Graham. She will be missed by her children Monica (Ole Hindsgaul), John (Sue Morrison), Andrea, Mayda (David Reid) and Margaret (Ted Graham). Cherished Nana of Leandra Reid (Eric Hutchinson), Alina Reid, and Matthew Graham. Marija leaves behind her brother Karol Pinter and her extended family in Slovenia. Born May 19, 1925 in Velenje, Slovenia, Marija came to Canada in 1948. She was a founding member of both Slovenski Park and St. Gregory the Great Slovenian Church as well as a Friend of the Red Hill Valley. Marija loved sewing, gardening, baking, and spoiling her grandchildren. At Marija’s request, there will be no visitation. A private family burial will take place on January 21, 2019 at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
