Obituary

Ferguson, Leonard John

January 15, 1930 to January 1, 2019

Peacefully in his 89th year, Leonard passed away at home with his loving wife Merily at his side. Predeceased by his children Eva and John, Len will be dearly missed by children Shari, Scott and Tammy, his grandchildren Justin, Kristin, Keri, Sarah, Marissa and Lynsay as well as all of his great grandchildren and his beloved sister Bernice.
A proud Hamilton Tigercat supporter, Len was also dedicated to helping others and spent more
than 15 years helping to raise money for the Salvation Army kettle fund and will be fondly remembered for his distinctive laugh and smile.

At Len’s request, cremation has already taken place. A visitation will be held at Laidlaw United Church on Tuesday January 15th from 10 to 11am with service and reception to follow.
In lieu of flowers, a donation to Laidlaw Church for their new ramp would be appreciated.

So sorry for your loss Merily and deepest sympathy to the family. Len was a very likeable person. Remembering how dedicated he was to his Tiger Cat team. Jim and myself have very fond memories of Len. Many times saw Len at the mall as he attended the kettles for the Salvation Army. Jim and Candy Dawson.

Hello, I am looking to confirm if son, Scott Ferguson, is the same Scott Ferguson I knew at the University of Guelph and who worked with me as a driver at Ohanian Bourque Pharmacy in Hamilton in the mid 1970s. If its the same Scott, I would like to reach you and my sincere condolences to you. Regards, Steven (Mihalich) Oliver U of Guelph Alumni 1979. steve.oliver28@outlook.com If it is not the correct Scott, please delete this post and please let me know either way about Scott.

We are sorry for the loss of Len. He was a good husband, friend and a guy who loved to talk , laugh and have a good time. Len loved to travel, go places and loved attending his tiger cat games. Plus we always heard all about the game and how he would have done the plays. He loved his home even as he asked Merily why do we have to keep changing things. Most of all Len loved his wife, family and his cat Maggie.Even when Len was very ill he always asked if Maggie was ok and was fed. we will miss you, your laughter, the good times and your greeting as we entered your home and always welcomed us in. May you be at peace and watch over merily .Barbara and Gary Day

We are so sorry for your loss. When this happens in our family we need more than human strength. God and his Son can provide what we need. Please review these scriptures : John 5:28-29 “Do not be amazed at this, for the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice 29 and come out, those who did good things to a resurrection of life, and those who practiced vile things to a resurrection of judgment.” Revelation 21:4 “And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.”
