Winifred  Lamont

At Ridgeview LTC in Hamilton, Winnie left us to be with her beloved husband of nearly
70 years, Adam Lamont (2013), in heaven. Much loved mother to Kenneth Lamont and his wife Beverley (nee Jones). Predeceased by her loving daughter Karen (Paul) Blazek (2006). Adored by grandchildren Trevor (Amanda), Mark, Matthew Lamont, Kelly England (nee Blazek), Kerri (Brian), Tara and Paul Blazek and great grandchildren, Christopher, Jacob, Joshua, Nicholas, Wyatt, Savanah, Caleb, Ty, Owen, Brooklyn, Cole, Gavin, Logan, Paris, and Eva. Survived by sister Sandra Hannah (Albert). Predeceased by mother Mary Thompson (nee McMurtry), father John Thompson, brother Jim Thompson and his wife Betty, brother Jack Thompson (N.Ireland), and sister Mia Clarke (N. Ireland). Winnie will be lovingly remembered by so many more family members and friends, both here in Canada and abroad in Northern Ireland where she was born in Ballymena. Our heartfelt thanks to all the staff at Ridgeview Long Term Care for their compassionate support and care over the last several years. We will forever cherish our memories of the countless good times we shared with love and gratitude. Visitation will be held at P.X. DERMODY FUNERAL HOME, 796 Upper Gage Ave., on Thursday, July 5, 2018 from 2-4 p.m. & 7-9 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held at St. John United Church (195 E 38th St.) on Friday, July 6, 2018 at 11 a.m. Burial to follow at Mount Hamilton Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Canadian Diabetes Association or Alzheimer’s Association would be greatly appreciated.

Life Story for Winifred Lamont

On December 22 1929, Winifred was born to Mary and John Thompson in Northern Ireland, the 3 rd of 4 children. She met Adam Lamont at the tender age of 15 and married him at 18 years old. They immigrated to Canada in 1948, settled in Hamilton, Ontario, and had two children there; Kenneth in 1951 and Karen in 1955. Since then their happy family grew to include 7 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. Winnie (Mom, Nana) has given all of her family and friends countless happy times to
remember. Her love lives on in all of us.
