It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of John Jones on January 5, 2017 at St. Peter’s at Chedoke in his 90th year. Born in Fredericton, New Brunswick, John grew up in Sussex, New Brunswick before coming to Ontario in 1965. Dear brother of Marjorie Hooper of Thousand Oaks, California. Survived by nieces and nephews, Sharon Mott (Gary) of St. John, New Brunswick, Gary Crossman (Marcia) of Hampton New Brunswick, Gail Lynch (Ron) of Fredericton, New Brunswick, Michelle of California, Tony, Ted, and Jane. Also survived by many great nieces and nephews and great great nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his twin sister Jacqueline Crossman. John will be lovingly remembered by close friends Rick and Sharon Traina. John was a retired sports editor with the Hamilton Spectator with many years of service. At John’s request, cremation has taken place. Donations to the SPCA or Neighbour to Neighbour would be appreciated by the family. A special thank you to the staff of St. Peter’s Hospital at Chedoke for their care and compassion shown to John during his stay. On-line condolences can be made to www.dermodys.com
