It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Kirk Newkirk on August 6, 2018. Much loved husband of Laura for 34 years. Devoted and proud father of Hillary (Daniel) and Ian (Jessica). Cherished brother in-law to June. Loving uncle to Sevi (Mike) and Nick (Kerri). After 30 years as a metallurgical engineer at Stelco, Kirk retired in 2007 and Laura and Kirk enjoyed travelling the world and making new friends. Special thank you to the staff of Emmanuel House Hospice for their care and compassion. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held at P.X. DERMODY FUNERAL HOME, 7 East Ave., South on Sunday, August 12th from 1-3 pm followed by a Celebration of Life Service. In lieu of flowers, donations to Juravinski Hospital and Cancer Centre Foundation (jhccfoundation.ca) would be much appreciated.
