Obituary for Patrick William "Pat" Leonard

Patrick William "Pat"  Leonard
Pat passed away peacefully in his sleep on June 20. He will be missed achingly by his grandchildren Eden and Ella, children Meghan (Max), Eamon (Sarah), Nathan, and Katie, his sister Mary Catharine (Barry), his brother Michael (Margo), his nephews Matt, Eric and Nick, a bunch of cousins and friends Greg, Kevin, Carolyn and so many others who loved him dearly. He was the son of the late Patrick and Lillian Leonard. He taught for 40 years, kindergarten, phys.ed. and English, mostly with the Hamilton Catholic School Board. He was active as a high school volleyball coach throughout his years of teaching and beyond his retirement. A passionate reader, raconteur, comedian and athlete, in his final years he took great joy in golfing with his buddies. Pat had a splendid gift for talking to strangers. He was filled with gratitude for all he was and all he had.
Visitation at P.X. Dermody Funeral Home, 7 East Ave.. S on Wednesday, June 27th, from 2-4pm and 7-9pm. A Funeral Mass will be offered Thursday, June 28th, at 9 am at Incarnation of our Blessed Lord Catholic Church, Barton St. E. at Nash Rd. N.
